Volunteers that TEACH ROCK!

The field of education is one of the most self-gratifying professions. Volunteers frequently choose to volunteer their service by traveling abroad and educating individuals from different cultures. The range of topics taught span from teaching English to zoology.
The ISS Directory of International Schools profiles nearly 600 schools and is a trusted resource worldwide. It includes key information such as school size, curriculum, accreditation, and enrollment.
The American-sponsored overseas schools assisted by the Department of State through the Office of Overseas Schools (A/OPR/OS) are nonprofit, non-denominational, independent schools, many of which were established on a cooperative basis by American citizens living overseas.

USA Travel Warning vs Travel Advisory

Map from September 2014
The U.S. Department of State handles summing up the risks and making recommendations for travelers seeking to visit or live in another country or region of the world. When the State Department issues aTravel Warningto a particular country or region they want you to understand the various risks associated with traveling to this area and to consider whether you should visit this country/region at all. "They use these examples of reasons for issuing a Travel Warning including unstable government, civil war, ongoing intense crime or violence, or frequent terrorist attacks.

Happy Father's Day

Few know that the "true" origin of Father's Day can be traced back to the American Civil War. William Jackson Smart was a Union Soldier in Arkansas' 1st Battery Light Artillery. Married in 1865, his wife Elizabeth Harris gave birth to six children before dying delivering her sixth child in 1878.

Elizabeth's death left Mr. Smart sole responsibility of raising six children. He moved to the State of Washington in 1887.
The children held their father in the highest regard.
