Empower and Care Organization, EACO, is a non-profit Community Charity Organization run by Ugandans. EACO was founded in 2004 and has been registered since 2006 (No. MG/2006/10/294). Their core values are solidarity, participation, inclusion, sustainability, dignity, empowerment and human progress.

EACO interventions focus on poverty reduction and address the effects of HIV/AIDS. A majority of vulnerable women, particularly widows and those living with HIV/AIDS, as well as vulnerable children, youth, and the elderly.

Orphans of Uganda



















Me and you child aid project (MAYCAP) is a registered community-based group in Masaka, a district of Uganda, with a registration number C.D 7591.   The organization was formed to acquire the basic necessities of life for the children in Masaka.  In the region, HIV/AIDS and proper education are crucial areas of focus.  It is estimated that 60% of the children in this local council do not go to school due to lack of funds for school fees, scholastic materials, and proper guidance.  MAYCAP works with the kids that are orphaned, affected by HIV/AIDS, and homeless by providing education, shelter,  nutrition, and access to medical care.

Kabale University and Hospital




















Kabale Universityis a chartered public university that mandate is to bridge the educational gap in Southwestern Uganda.  By fulfilling its function of generating and imparting knowledge through their alumnus, the university's goals are to empower men and women to realize their full academic potential.  

Kabale Hospital(KH) is located inKabale districtof South Western Uganda.  It is a pleasant 265 mile drive from Kampala.  The hospital was established in 1918 and initially designated as a small facility mainly serving expatriate staff and business communities.

         An overactive thyroid, also known as Hyperthyroidism, occurs when the thyroid gland produces an excess of the hormone thyroxine.  The elevated level of thyroxine can greatly increase the body's metabolism. Signs and symptoms of hyperthyroidism includes a fast or irregular heart rate, weight loss, profusely sweating, and nervousness.

     The 2015 Global Tuberculosis Report, released by the World Health Organization(WHO), announced that there were 1.5 million deaths worldwide (890000 men, 480000 women, and 140000 children) caused by TB in 2014 with India accounting for the highest incidence of cases.

World Hand Hygiene Day














With the number of people volunteering all over our planet, we thought that sharing the CDC's movement known as"Clean Hand Counts" would be universally applicable. 
Their campaign aims to:
-Improve healthcare provider adherence to CDC hand hygiene recommendations.
-Address the myths and misconceptions about hand hygiene.
-Empower patients to play a role in their care by asking or reminding healthcare providers to clean their hands.

Cinco de Mayo-May 5, 2016

















The above image, created by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, depicts the influence of foods from all over the World on Cinco de Mayo.  Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican celebration held on May 5.  However, many may not be aware that this holiday commemorates General Ignacio Zaragoza 's victory over French military on May 5, 1862, during the Franco-Mexican War. This historic event is known as the Battle of Puebla. 


Teacher's Appreciation Week











In 2016, we celebrate this holiday between Monday, May 2nd to Friday, May 6th.  During this period, it is common for an instructor to receive a card or small token symbolizing a student's fondness or appreciation for their teacher.  Teachers rocks!
